The Uniting Vic.Tas Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Carol Jeffs as the new Chief Executive Officer of Uniting Vic.Tas.
This follows an extensive and competitive recruitment process, which began after our current CEO, Bronwyn Pike, advised the Board in December 2024 that she would not be seeking to renew her contract beyond 30 June 2025.
Carol brings a deep passion for delivering outcomes that create meaningful change for individuals, communities, and future generations. She has a strong track record in establishing and expanding services in Melbourne’s growth corridors and is dedicated to building trust, collaboration, and strong stakeholder relationships.
An accomplished and experienced leader, Carol is currently the CEO of Cardinia Shire Council, one of Australia’s fastest-growing and most culturally diverse municipalities. In this role since 2018, she oversees a $260 million budget, 660 employees, and $50 million in contracted services.
Carol began her career as an economics lecturer at Monash University in the early 1990s, later leading a not-for-profit partnership organisation before transitioning to local government in 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Business from Monash University and a Master of Economics from the University of New England.
Carol shared her enthusiasm for the role, stating:
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with the passionate and dedicated Board and team at Uniting Vic.Tas to make a real difference in the lives of people across Victoria and Tasmania. I look forward to leading the ongoing delivery of outstanding community services and to driving the implementation of our ambitious strategic plan.”
The Board is confident that Uniting Vic.Tas is in a strong position for the future — supported by a high-quality leadership team, a constructive and positive Board–executive relationship, a dedicated and capable workforce, a strong partnership with the Uniting Church Synod, and a healthy balance sheet.
With the recent launch of the Uniting 2030 Strategy, Carol will play a key role in leading the next phase of our growth — supporting individuals with their foundations for living through expanded early learning, early intervention, and community housing services across metropolitan Melbourne, regional Victoria, and Tasmania.
We warmly welcome Carol Jeffs to Uniting Vic.Tas and look forward to the journey ahead under her leadership.
